The Ruhr IoT Hilly Pond Safety Monitoring and Early Warning System is designed for reservoirs with a storage capacity of 10,000 to 100,000 cubic meters (10,000–100,000 m³) and a dam height of 5 to 15 meters (5–15 m). Those reservoirs is located upstream of residential areas, where a failure could potentially lead to casualties or building collapses. The Monitoring System is beneficial for resolving the irregularities in the management of Hilly Pond, enhancing the collection of data (water level, water quality, rainfall, and structural integrity), and establishing a early warning system. To balance both practicality and cost-effectiveness, the monitoring system is composed of State-Approved Standardized Devices.
