This device operates on the principle that hydrostatic pressure of a liquid is proportional to its height. It is constructed using advanced isolated diffused silicon sensing elements or ceramic capacitive pressure sensors, which convert hydrostatic pressure into electrical signals. After temperature compensation and linearity correction, these signals are standardized (typically 4–20mA/1–5V DC). Also referred to as a hydrostatic level gauge, level transducer, liquid level sensor, or water level sensor, it ensures precise and reliable fluid height measurement.
