714 Geological Disaster Monitoring and Early Warning Experimental Sites in Zhejiang Pass the Acceptance Inspection

Recently, the official news release of the Ministry of Natural Resources stated that 714 geological disaster monitoring and early warning experimental sites in Zhejiang Province have passed the completion acceptance inspection, successfully fulfilling the annual construction tasks.
It is reported that in order to improve the level of geological disaster monitoring and early warning, the Ministry of Natural Resources has deployed geological disaster monitoring and early warning experimental work in 17 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government), including Zhejiang. This year, the Zhejiang Provincial Government included the construction of 449 geological disaster monitoring and early warning experimental sites in the ten aspects of livelihood projects to be well implemented. In accordance with the arrangements of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the Department of Natural Resources of Zhejiang Province has been solidly promoting the construction of geological disaster monitoring and early warning experimental sites. Focusing on geological disaster hazard points or risk prevention areas that are of poor stability, high risk, pose a threat to a large number of people, and for which governance and relocation are not yet implemented, it has laid out geological disaster monitoring and early warning experimental sites and actively carried out monitoring work.
At the same time, the Department of Natural Resources of Zhejiang Province has made full use of technologies such as cloud computing and big data, as well as professional monitoring platforms, to build a complete system for data collection, transmission, analysis, processing, storage, and application. And according to the characteristics and laws of geological disasters in different regions, of different types, and at different levels, it has scientifically and rationally set early warning thresholds and levels. Since the flood season this year, the professional monitoring and early warning platform has issued 1,750 early warning messages, with a normal early warning rate of 78.0%, which is 17% higher than that in 2022.

Ruhr IoT is the equipment supplier, construction unit, and operation and maintenance unit of the geological disaster monitoring and early warning experimental sites in Zhejiang Province. It provides safety monitoring services for more than 2,000 geological disaster hazard points in the province and has played a positive role in disaster prevention and mitigation. On July 27th, Ruhr IoT successfully predicted three risk prevention areas: the risk prevention area behind the house at No. 77, Kuqu Village, Qiaodun Town, Cangnan County; the risk prevention area behind the houses of Huang Changren and others at Wandi, Tanqi Village, Shanxi Town, Wencheng County; and the risk prevention area of landslide hazards behind the houses of Wang Jieli and others in Xiadong Village, Shunxi Town, Pingyang County. Affected by the typhoon weather and with the timely landslide early warning, the local government organized the evacuation of personnel in advance, resulting in no casualties or economic losses.

Among them, soil landslides occurred in the risk prevention area behind the houses of Huang Changren and others at Wandi, Tanqi Village, Shanxi Town, Wencheng County. At this monitoring site, Ruhr IoT installed a universal multi-functional monitoring integrated machine (including inclinometer and accelerometer), a soil moisture content monitor (including inclinometer, accelerometer, soil temperature, and soil moisture content), a rain gauge, and an audible and visual alarm. The on-site equipment issued a red monitoring early warning. The owner unit organized research and judgment and handling at the first time. Ruhr IoT arranged staff to conduct on-site inspections and repair the equipment to confirm that the on-site monitoring equipment could continue to operate normally in the future.
